FRANKLIN

 THE SOUTHERNBELLE RADICAL

A real rebel curating heritage, history and change

PRESERVING TRUTH.

ADVANCING JUSTICE.

Eliza Jane Franklin is a historian, heritage conservationist, and founder of The SouthernBelle Radical, a platform dedicated to preserving truth, advancing justice, and amplifying histories too often left untold. As The SouthernBelle Radical, Franklin is an intellectual architect of Black memory, material culture, and cultural landscapes across the American South and the broader African Diaspora. Her work bridges history, preservation, and descendant advocacy, partnering with communities, organizations, and institutions to uncover, interpret, and steward cultural heritage. Through research, public engagement, and storytelling, she transforms historical knowledge into meaningful impact while fostering a deeper understanding of the people, places, and histories that shape our world.
