DH 101: What is Digital Humanities?
Digital Humanities is an area of scholarly activity at the intersection of computing or digital technologies and the disciplines of the humanities. It includes the systematic use of digital resources in the humanities, as well as the analysis of their application.
Eliza Jane became interested in this field as an urban planner seeking an interdisciplinary discipline that bridged her interest data visualizations, mapping, art and the humanities. As the first CALI-BAMA digital urban humanist, she has utilized this field to strengthen her ongoing research project on Lynchings in Alabama and to participate in group digital projects.
